San Francisco, February 17, 2006 - Dave Brown, winner of the 2005 U.S. Touring Car Driver's Championship, and David Bongiovanni, a championship winning team owner, have partnered to create GoodSport Racing, a funded, world-class race team for the 2006 U.S. Touring Car Championship.
GoodSport Racing will compete with a 2004 Mitsubishi Evo VIII RS driven by Dave Brown. Delivered new by San Rafael Mitsubishi, the GoodSport Evo has been undergoing extensive development and testing to integrate a wide range of performance equipment from a variety of manufacturers.
Works of San Francisco, CA worked their magic with drivetrain accessories to maximize the performance of the engine. Robispec of Hesperia, CA significantly improved the already excellent Evo suspension with Robispec springs and dampers as well as brake system upgrades. Fabrication experts at Bugformance, of San Jose, CA, custom built the 11 point roll cage that drastically improves the rigidity of the GoodSport Evo. Ground Control of Sonoma, CA, supplied camber plates that add the ability to adjust caster as well as camber.
Key individuals who are contributing to the success of the team include: Crew Chief Chris Hovey, Marketing Manager Tom Yamaguchi, Mechanics Jeffrey Galasco and Glenn Olsen, and Photographer Bob Forrest.
