Richmond, CA -- Miller Electric Company announced today that it will expand its support of the Hankook United States Touring Car Championship (USTCC). Miller has been a sponsor of the series for many years but for 2007 they are creating a special award for the Miller Crew Chief of the Year. The selected individual that has shown to be the VIP of their team shall win a Millermatic 180 220V MIG welder, valued at about $1000. In addition, the top eligible finishers in each race shall win discount certificates valid for Miller products purchases.
The Millermatic 180 features Smooth-Start technology, allowing spatter free starts along with other features such as infinite voltage control, durable cast aluminum feedhead, thermal overload protection, and Miller’s exclusive “Tip Saver” short circuit protection. The Millermatic 180 weighs in at 72 lbs. and comes complete with M-10 Miller MIG gun, factory installed gas solenoid valve, regular gauge, spool of solid wire, set up guide and video and a special settings chart.
Taking innovatively sound steps since 1929, Miller Electric has grown from a one-man operation selling products in Northeast Wisconsin, to what is today the world's largest manufacturer of arc welding and cutting equipment. Without skipping a beat, Miller keeps the tradition alive by delivering ruggedly reliable equipment of the highest quality. Miller Electric Mfg. Co. became the first U.S. welding equipment manufacturer -- and one of the first few U.S. manufacturers of any product -- to comply with the new ISO 9001:2000 standard. The ISO 9001:2000 standard addresses meeting customer requirements and achieving customer satisfaction in much greater detail than the old standards.
“It is great to have Miller be there for the USTCC and to initiate this award. Usually the driver gets all the glory while the rest of the guys and girls behind the scene don’t even get a mention. This will be a great award to hand out at the end of the season,” said Ali Arsham, Series Coordinator of the USTCC. Miller supports many teams in NASCAR as well as some teams in off road racing and drag racing. This is their first involvement in road racing.
