Schmitt Wins GT in BMW M235i. McClure wins ST in Porsche 911. Hartanto Wins Touring Class in tight TC fight at Sonoma.

Sonoma, CA -- Henry Schmitt, driving the San Francisco BMW M235i won the GT class while 2016 ST Champion Brad McClure came out on top in Super Touring in the BTM Motorwerks Porsche 911. The fight in Touring Car class was intense as the top five were separated by less than a second but at the end Andrie Hartanto's Supertech/Rota Wheels Honda S2000 took the win. In Sportsman the battle was between Danny Van Dongen who cme fromthe Netherlands to race the BMW M3 but he fell short as Ben Ho took home the win in the B&K Motoring Honda Civic.


Special Awards

Advanced Clutch Technology
George Kibilov kept the pressure on to keep his points lead in the Super Touring class. He won the Advanced Clutch Technology award good for $500.
AutoMeter Products
Michael McColligan complained about lack of grip and finished fourth and won an AutoMeter battery charger and an AutoMeter professional tire gauge.
BAF Racing
Andy Chittum set the quickest lap of the race but managed to only finish fourth. He earned $300 from BAF Racing for his efforts.
Classic Motorbooks
Larry Bani had many electrical issues but the team worked hard and their efforts paid off with a podium finish winning a set of books from Classic Motorbooks.
Michael Sekhon had transmission issues but he kept fighting and ended up finishing fourth and won an assortment of CRC products.
CSF Radiators
Henry Schmitt dominated the GT class and took home an easy victory and won the CSF Radiators award in the process.
Disc Brake Australia USA
Andy Chittum put on an amazing performance and won the DBA USA award along with a set of DBA high performance rotors that can help him in the future.
Flowmaster Mufflers
Thomas Pitre was in trouble with the track officials as his car was over the sound limit He won $500 from Flowmaster Mufflers that he can use for a new exhaust system next time.
Molecule products is a great way to keep your racing gear clean and smelling nice and Thomas Pitre won the Molecule Sports award with a complete Molecule cleaning kit.
Michael McColligan has the prettiest RX8 in the country. He won the Mothers Polish award with a big bucket full of car cleaning products to help keep it that way.
Andy Chittum was cool under pressure as he almost snatched pole position. He collected the $200 Perma Cool Products award.
Race Ramps
Ben Ho had to replace an engine and transmission to make the race. For his efforts, he took home $300 from Race Ramps.
Ram Mount
Danny Van Dongen came all the way from the Netherlands and almost won the race. He ended up with the RAM Mounts award.
Rescue Tape
Gary Sheehan finished a very strong third place which put him in second place in the points standings. He won the Rescue Tape award.
Rostra Precision
Brad McClure made his return to USTCC and showed everyone he is still the man to beat winning the Rostra Precision Control award as a result.
Scan Gauge
Cedric Walker was angry at himself for not placing higher this weekend despite setting some very quick lap times. He won the Scan Gauge award.
Sound Stream
Patrick Chio ended up with a fifth place finish and won the Sound Stream award with a new navigation/DVD unit.
Specialty Products Company
Cedric Walker managed to finish sixth in a very tough field and he won the Specialty Products Company award.
Dave Brown looked like he was going to win the GT class but a bad clutch had different ideas. He took home the Stack Limited award.
Swift Springs
Gary Sheehan needed to be just a bit quicker to win. He took home the Swift Springs award collecting some new springs to help him go even faster.
Thule is well known for vehicle racks but are now making superb pieces of luggage. With his second place finish, Michael Shawhan took home a beautiful piece of Thule luggage.
TYLT makes terrific products that busy people on the move need such as phone chargers and battery packs. Winning a backpack full of their products was Andrie Hartanto who worked extremely hard and managed to win a very difficult race.
Cobra Electronics
Winning the Cobra Electronics Top Team award was the Racing Team with a first place in Touring Car class and a first place in the Super Touring class. The team earned a Cobra radar detector for their hard work.
Optima Batteries GT
The OPTIMA Batteries podium in the GT class was Carl Rydquist, first place, Sam Stowell second place and Felipe Loza third place.
Optima Batteries Touring Car
The Optima Batteries podium in the Touring Car class was Gary Sheehan, first place, Patrick Chio, second place, and Andrie Hartanto, third place.
Optima Batteries Super Touring Car
The Optima Batteries podium in the Touring Car class was Mike Sekhon, first place, George Kibilov, second place, and Larry Bani, third place.
WASPcam Action Cams

Wine Country Motorsports Award
Michael Shawhan’s unbeaten record at Sonoma came to an end with a second place finish but he won the Wine Country Motor Sports $150 award.
