Victor Ng Takes On A Challenging Race At Sonoma
Napa, CA– June 14th, 2020 – AR-G Motorsports announces Victor Ng, AR-G team driver, took 4th place at round 3 of USTCC race of the 2020 season. Starting 3rd in class, Victor fought hard to keep up with the Genesis in his Honda S2000 unfortunately hampered by a mechanical failure late in the race.
"The team gave great support and good advice prepping the car, although it was hard to find space on the tight twisty Sonoma track with up to 70 cars every session prior to the race”, said Ng. "We managed to make improvements up to the race, closing the time gap towards the Hyundais every session. The rest lies upon a little bit of luck and it wasn’t our day as it turns out, with a mechanical failure our pursuit came to a halt in the race but we have learned more about the car and we will make adjustments to come back stronger.”
When the green flag dropped, Ng had a good start and hung on the backs of the Hyundais that have bigger engines. It was a battle between straight line speed and cornering speed. Ng was in a 3-way battle up to the point where Ng had to stop the car to prevent further damage. It was a heartbreaking moment for the team but saving the car for the next race was equally important. We look forward to rebounding on to the podium at the next round in Buttonwillow.
